Couple Kimono Rental in Asakusa

A women’s komon starts at ¥6,000 and a men’s set at ¥8,000. For two people the day costs those two prices added together. It is a light enough combination to walk in all day, from Senso-ji through Nakamise and down to the Sumida river.

How much is it for two people?

Komon from ¥6,000 plus a men’s set from ¥8,000, each priced by the style you pick. There is no two-person bundle, so if one of you moves up to a furisode or a homongi, only that half of the sum changes.

What does the price include?

The kimono set, zori sandals, a matching bag and basic hair styling with a hair accessory — for each of you, dressing included.

A half-width obi comes free with komon. If you would like a showier fukuro obi, an otaiko knot is ¥1,500 and a decorative kawari knot is ¥3,000. Make-up is ¥4,500 per person and must be booked in advance.

How do two outfits go together?

Splitting light and dark usually photographs better than matching. A black haori over striped hakama sits comfortably next to almost any women’s pattern, and if one of you picks a loud komon, keeping the other plain stops the two of you competing inside the frame. The brightest obi is best given to whichever of you wants to be looked at.

Is the security deposit charged per person?

Yes. It is ¥10,000 per person, so two people leave two deposits. They are holding amounts rather than fees: both are returned in full when the kimono comes back.

Can we book together?

Yes. One booking with both names and both styles is enough. The reservation deposit is ¥1,000 for one to four guests, and paying it confirms the booking. Walk-ins are welcome too, though guests with reservations are dressed first, so there may be a wait when the shop is busy.

The clothes you change out of are stored free of charge while you are out, and valuables stay with you.

How do we photograph the two of us?

Outdoor sessions come in two lengths: 30 minutes at ¥10,000 for 50 unedited and 5 retouched photos, and 60 minutes at ¥16,000 for 100 unedited and 10 retouched. The 60-minute one is the most popular, because it leaves time to walk from the temple grounds into the side streets. Photo sessions are booked in advance and cannot be added on the day.

Unedited photos arrive within 2 days as a cloud download link, and retouched photos within 5 working days of you choosing them.

What time do we bring it back?

By 17:00 the same day. If you want the evening as well, extend to a next-day return for ¥1,100 per person and bring it back by 14:00 — two people extending means two extension fees.
