When do I get the photos from my Asakusa kimono shoot?

“When do we get the photos?” is the question we hear most on the day of a shoot. Delivery comes in two stages — first the unedited files, then the retouched images. They arrive at different times and are counted in different ways.

When do the unedited photos arrive?

Usually within 2 days. We send a cloud download link so you can save the whole set in one go. These are the unedited files, straight from the shoot, and how many you get depends on the plan you booked.

How many retouched images does each plan include?

Here is the full breakdown:

• Studio, 45 minutes (¥10,000) — 50 unedited, 5 retouched
• Studio, 20 minutes (¥3,000) — 20 unedited, 2 retouched (an add-on for guests who already have a session booked)
• Outdoor, 30 minutes (¥10,000) — 50 unedited, 5 retouched
• Outdoor, 60 minutes (¥16,000) — 100 unedited, 10 retouched
• Outdoor, 120 minutes (¥32,000) — 160 unedited, 20 retouched

All prices include tax. Judged on retouched images alone, the 60-minute outdoor session with 10 of them is the one most guests pick.

When do the retouched images arrive?

Within 5 business days of your selection being finished. The detail that matters here is the starting point: it is the moment you finish choosing your favourites, not the day of the shoot. Choose them while you are still travelling and they reach you sooner; choose them after you fly home and the five days start then.

Can I have more photos retouched?

Yes. Extra retouching is ¥500 per photo, for the shots you want to keep beyond the number included in your plan. Every unedited file is already in your hands, so you can come back to the set later and pick more.

Can I add a session on the day?

Photo sessions are booked in advance and cannot be added on the day, so reserve the shoot at the same time as the kimono. One photographer covers up to 4 guests, so tell us the headcount early if you are booking for a family or a group.

How can I get the photos sooner?

Of the two stages, the one you control is the selection. The unedited files land within 2 days, so if you look through them the same evening you walk Asakusa, the retouched images reach you while the trip is still fresh.
