What is included in the kimono rental price in Asakusa?
The price covers the kimono, obi, zori sandals, a matching bag, basic hair styling and dressing. Only make-up, elaborate hair, an obi knot upgrade and an overnight return cost extra.

“What else will I be charged for?” is the question our counter staff hear most. The short answer is that there are only four possible additions. Everything else is already in the price you see.
What does the listed price include?
The kimono, the under-layer, the obi, zori sandals, a matching bag, basic hair styling — and the dressing itself. Those six things are the same whichever kimono you choose, and there is no separate “set fee” added later.
The obi depends on the formality of the kimono. Komon, lace kimono and short-sleeve furisode come with a half-width obi; formal styles such as homongi and furisode come with a fukuro obi. Both are included.
What costs extra?
Four things. Make-up is ¥4,500 per person and must be reserved in advance. A more elaborate hairstyle is ¥1,700 per person and can usually be added at the counter. Changing the obi knot costs ¥1,500 for an otaiko knot or ¥3,000 for a decorative kawari knot. Extending the return to the following day is ¥1,100 per person.
Decline all four and you walk out for exactly the price on the plan page.
Is the security deposit part of the price?
No. The deposit is money we hold, not money we charge. We take ¥10,000 per person when you leave the store and return it in full when the kimono comes back. Premium furisode are the exception at ¥20,000 per person.
The reservation deposit is a third, separate thing: it is what confirms your booking, and it is ¥1,000 for one to four guests or ¥2,000 for five to eight.
Is photography included?
No — photo sessions are their own plans. A 45-minute studio session is ¥10,000, a 30-minute outdoor session is ¥10,000, and the popular 60-minute outdoor session is ¥16,000. All of them must be booked in advance and cannot be added on the day.
Unedited photos arrive by cloud download within 2 days; retouched images within 5 business days of you choosing your favourites. Extra retouched photos are ¥500 each.
How do I pay?
We accept WeChat Pay, Alipay, credit cards, PayPay and cash. Your booking is confirmed once the reservation deposit is paid.
